Searching for a Warrant in Randall County
Read any notice before you open a search page. Randall County's Sheriff feed is one county law-enforcement list, not a master file for the district, county, JP, city and federal courts. Amarillo runs its own municipal search. Canyon offers a payment and verification path with no separate roster. The citation or cause paper names the one office that can confirm the case. Search with your own full name and the case details printed on the notice. A clerk may ask for a date of birth to separate a common name, though the public screens do not all offer that field. Do not send extra identity data through a general form.
- Use the court printed on your citation, summons or release paper.
- For county Sheriff process, use the official feed and record the date checked.
- For Amarillo, search the city portal; for Canyon, use its court and payment verification route.
- Call the responsible court or the Sheriff Warrants line if the result is unclear or absent.
- Use Randall County’s PIA form for a defined record or system question; contact DPS only about a reported renewal issue.
Randall County Warrant Search Starts With Court
The paper tells you where to start. A Randall County JP citation goes to Precinct 1, 4 or 4A, not automatically to the Sheriff. A misdemeanor County Court at Law record belongs with the County Clerk's Criminal Department. District felony files route through the District Clerk. City ordinance and Class C cases stay with the issuing municipal court. Every court keeps its own warrant records. For county citations, the official justice-court page covers Class C matters and lists agencies that can issue tickets, including the Sheriff, Texas DPS, Parks and Wildlife game wardens and WTAMU Police. The court name on the citation counts for more than the officer's uniform or agency patch. Match that name in any Randall County lookup. See the Randall County outstanding-warrant list details for how the Sheriff feed differs from a complete court file.
Warrant Search Fields Explained
Each public tool differs. Randall County's Sheriff page offers a type-to-search box and a card detail action, though its required syntax is not stated. Amarillo accepts a full or partial last name and paginates its results. Canyon points to court contact and payment verification, with no public result table.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Randall Sheriff search | Text input | Not stated | Label reads “Type to Search”; required format is not published. |
| Sort control | Alphabetic sort | No | Feed configuration showed alphabetical name order. |
| Amarillo last name | Text field, last_name | Search term | A fragment is permitted; table pagination is present. |
| Birth date or warrant ID | Not shown as public inputs | Not applicable | Ask the issuing clerk what private detail it needs to confirm a match. |
| Canyon court route | Phone, email, payment verification | Varies by route | No separate public roster schema was located. |
The Randall Sheriff Warrant Feed
The Randall County Sheriff's official search interface displays cards with a "Read More" detail view. Each card can carry Name ID, age, race, gender, warrant number fields, offense label and Warrant Owner. "Read More" expands a card. The feed does not consistently show the issuing court, bond, issue date, service return or disposition. Call the office that can answer your question. The Sheriff directory lists 806-468-5753 for Warrants, 806-468-5800 for Records, 806-468-5752 for Jail and 806-468-5751 for Central Dispatch. Dispatch only routes calls. It cannot rule on a warrant. The official page opens with its search controls blank.

What a Warrant Search Shows
What a search shows depends on its source. The Randall County Sheriff list exposes a limited card schema, while Amarillo's city table adds citation fields and a Pay action. Neither one is a complete case file. The amount in Amarillo is not a confirmed bond or total payoff, and a result may not name the clerk who can change its status.
| Warrant / citation ID | Identifier shown by the official source; the local Sheriff number format has no published codebook. |
|---|---|
| Offense | The Sheriff detail view may show an offense label; Amarillo uses an offense description. |
| Issuing court | Not consistently displayed on the Sheriff feed; confirm with the court named on the notice. |
| Amount or bond | Do not treat a city table amount as bond or a complete balance. |
| Status | Ask whether the item is served, recalled, quashed, paid or still active. |
Amarillo Municipal Warrants Need Their Own Search
Inside Randall County, Amarillo's portal keeps it simple: a last-name field, a Search button and pagination. Each row lists citation number, last and first name, violation date, offense description, amount and Pay. No birth-date field or court selector appears. A common-name match identifies no one. The city warns that spelling or clerical error can skew matches. Updates should arrive daily. They may lag. The city's current alert says the list is not updating and tells users to call 806-378-3082. That warning covers Amarillo only, not the Randall County Sheriff feed, so take status and payment questions to Amarillo Municipal Court.
Where to Check Warrants in Randall County
Know which court holds the file before you search. District felony questions belong to the District Clerk. Randall County misdemeanors sit with the County Clerk's Criminal Department, JP citations with the named precinct, and city matters with that city's municipal court. The Sheriff's warrant list and Warrants line give you a separate county law-enforcement route to try. Federal cases, though, belong to the Northern District of Texas and never appear in a county feed. Texas DPS FTA and FTP records deal with license-renewal consequences and clearance. They are not a public, statewide warrant search by name. A full personal warrant check means working from your citation, finding the right court or agency, checking its source, and then calling to confirm any possible match.
Canyon Warrant Status Needs Court Confirmation
Canyon Municipal Court keeps no public warrant roster. Its page points to a payment and verification vendor and gives contact details by phone and email. A ticket can take several business days to appear, the FAQ warns. Call or email first. This Randall County court is temporarily closed, and trials and dockets are canceled. A phone call is not an appearance. When you reach the clerk, ask three things. Is the case filed, and did a warrant issue? Also ask which motion, payment or setting is allowed, and do not assume Canyon matters appear on the Randall County Sheriff's list.
Restricted Warrants and Access Rules
Texas law does not open every warrant file to the public. An arrest warrant and its affidavit become public once executed, through a defined procedure. Unexecuted, sealed, juvenile and investigative material may be withheld or redacted. A public search can also miss a court's process. That gap is not a confidentiality problem, and a Randall County court outside the feed is one example.
Key Rules:
Texas Code of Criminal Procedure art. 15.26 covers public access to an arrest warrant after execution.
Texas Family Code Chapter 58 protects juvenile justice information.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 allows withholding where another law or exception applies; a blank search is not proof of no warrant.
Randall County PIA for Warrant System Records
Randall County handles records requests through its Public Information Act page and its linked form. Use it for county records or system rules. Think field definitions, refresh policy, or a count by issuing court. The form asks for a clear description, an optional date range, contact details, redaction choices and delivery preference, and charges may apply. The District Clerk adds a $5 research fee. For misdemeanor-record questions, County Clerk Criminal routes calls at 806-468-5505, extension 4001. A PIA request does not extend a citation deadline. It also does not replace calling the issuing court, the one office in Randall County that can confirm a warrant.
